Certified by the American College of Surgeons and the American Board of Urology, Dr. James Bollinger is the service chief of the Dept. of Urology at Paoli Memorial Hospital.
A graduate from Pennsylvania State University and Temple University School of Medicine, his general surgery residency was obtained at Episcopal Hospital and his urology residency at Episcopal and Temple University Hospitals. Serving in the U.S. Army Medical Corp at Walson Army Hospital he worked as a practicing urologist. He attained his Master's Degree in Healthcare Administration through Pennsylvania State University.
Dr. Bollinger is the founder and president of the Paoli Memorial Hospital chapters of Impotence Anonymous and the Prostate Cancer Support Group. He is the founder and director of the Paoli Hospital's urologic robotic surgery program. He is the co-author of Mosby's Perioperative Series: Genitourinary Surgery, and A Comparative Study of Prostate-Specific Antigen (PSA) and Prostatic Acid Phosphatase (PAP) as Prostate Tumor Markers. Additionally, he has had many speaking engagements to the medical, nursing, and lay communities. To maintain skill and expertise, Dr. Bollinger regularly attends technical and didactic courses focusing on both new and current urologic interventions.
A skilled urologic surgeon, Dr. Bollinger has designated privileges to practice at the facilities previously mentioned as well as Phoenixville Hospital, Bryn Mawr Hospital, Chester County Hospital, Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, and Brandywine Hospital. Procedures are also performed in the office setting with the ability to provide intravenous sedation monitored by a certified nurse anesthetist. Full on-site x-ray facilities and diagnostic equipment will afford the patient private, confidential and complete evaluations of incontinence and erectile dysfunction.
